All This, and He Wants More

Recently grand exalted leader Obama was quoted as saying, “I hate Rich people and they need to pay more in taxes so I can play golf and go on vacation more”. Ok, well he didn't say that, but he did speak of a balanced approach to cutting the deficit.

Now I'm not part of the 1% or even 5, or 10, or 20. Far from in in fact. I am in the 50% of tax payers in this country and I think people like Obama need to see what we actually pay.

This list may not be fair because I'm adding in state taxes, but it makes sense in the long run.

Here is a list of all my taxes.

Fica

state income tax

sales tax

gas tax

property tax

fcc tax (on cable and internet)

alcohol tax (probably my second biggest)

fcc tax on my cell phone

I'm probably leaving out one ore two that I just forgot about because its buried somewhere. I also didn't include hidden taxes in the products and services I buy, cuz lets face it. It's not like any business actually pays taxes. They pass those along to the consumer.

And God forbid you smoke. Those taxes are freakin ridiculous.

With all that many states, and our federal government can balance a budget. This is just me here. There are hundreds of thousands of other people paying those taxes, and more. Yet that's not good enough. Now some people have to pay more.

I know this wont affect me, but its not about me. Its about the principle of the matter. This economy will never recover if job creators don't feel they are on stable ground.
