“Nothing Says You're Sorry Like a Dead Bunny.”

(title quotation by author Patricia Briggs)

It has been revealed that it was the Director of President Obama's National Economic Council, Gene Sperling, who told Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward that he would "regret" questioning the administration’s account of the impending sequester.

Some say Woodward's interpretation of this as a veiled threat is ridiculous, especially since Sperling's email is sandwiched with apologies for raising his voice during an earlier conversation — but Woodward is certainly no stranger to threats, and should be able to recognize intimidation when he sees it.

Hmm. I can't quite put my finger on what Sperling's apologetic tone reminds me of...oh, now I remember...

Tsk. Like Dave, it seems that poor Bob just couldn't let it go and focus on the mission.
