Movie Note; Jurassic Park 3D

Well, I took my kids to see Jurassic Park today, in 3D.  I know it's a PG-13 movie, and my kids are 9 and 6, and that it's a pretty scary movie, but I figured my son, a fearless 6-year old, would enjoy all the dinosaurs, and the running and the screaming, and that my 9-year old daughter would pee herself and we would all have a good laugh.

Oops!

My daughter loved the movie and now wants to see the others, while my son started crying with the first appearance of the T-Rex and wanted to leave NOW, DAD! We did manage to get him through the rest, and he didn't pee himself which was good. But he'll tell you he pooped himself. But I'm pretty sure he didn't. He just likes to say things like that...

They had a TON of previews before the movie, probably 8 or 9, and there were 5 or 6 aimed squarely at kids the same age as mine, so I KNOW I'm not the only bad parent out there. In fact, there were two kids younger than mine in the front row, but they didn't make it all the way to the end.

Anyway, if you've seen the movie, you know how totally awesome it is. The 3D was very well done, the print looked great, and the effects still hold up with anything you'll see today. When they showed computer screens, though, it was sort of amusing how high tech that looked back in the day, and how primitive it looks now.

This is still one of my favorite scary movies of all time, still effective and still worthy of a ticket.

Just be careful with the kids.
