It could be that our Berkeley pals aren't actually stupid. Maybe they just have bad luck when thinking...
Here's a quote:
...The UC Berkeley student government has banned the term "illegal Immigrant: from it's discourse, deeming the phrase racist, offensive, unfair and derogatory.
In an unanimous vote, student senators passed a resolution that stated the word “illegal” is “racially charged,” “dehumanizes” people, and contributes to “punitive and discriminatory actions aimed primarily at immigrants and communities of color...”
Read the whole thing here...
For years the left has badgered everybody into going along with the notion that the term "illegal alien" was "racist, etc.,", and insisting that the only right thing to do was replace it with "illegal immigrant", now they have decided that that term is also unacceptable. Give them another six months and they'll be up in arms about whatever PC euphemism they come up with then. Their insistence that this is a matter of racial unfairness works for them, because (a) a phony premise like this is too scary for our "leaders" to contest, and (b) the rest of us let them get away with it. What they're doing is attacking the fundamental concept of national sovereignty, but, like everything else they do, they don't have the courage to do it head on.
If you have a better one, send it along, I'll post it with the next one…..
Dohtimes response (__Star Trek __Ernest Borg 9) to DIGTR #1 earned him a mention here...although I confess I never saw the original, or the first 8 sequels. I don't get out much. But I heard 4 Rest Whittaker and Cassandra 4 Rester were pretty good in one of the earlier sequels....I think it was The Revenge of Dr. "B1111" McCoy...
